Welcome to Swan's Island Oddfellows Hall Fund
We have an application pending with the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) Tax Deductible Fund responsible for raising funds for physically maintaining and improving the Oddfellows Hall on Swan's Island, Maine for the benefit of the whole community. The building brings islanders, transplants, and summer people together in a spirit of Friendship, Love, and Truth.

Myron "Sonny" Sprague, Jr
Sonny Sprague, a dedicated lifelong resident of Swan's Island and seasoned fisherman, actively participates in every aspect of island community life. Formerly a town selectman, now retired, he has been a steadfast supporter of past renovations to the Community Hall and continues to champion ongoing improvements.
Gwen May
Gwen May, a lifelong resident of Swan’s Island, Maine, grew up in Minturn and moved to Atlantic at age twelve. Gwen served as Town Clerk and Tax Collector for many years, contributing significantly to the island’s community. She and her family continue to live on Swan’s Island, remaining deeply rooted in its close-knit community.
Terry Staples
Terry, a fourth-generation island resident, has served as Town Meeting Moderator for multiple years, participated on the Planning Board, and organized summer breakfasts. He has managed the Fisherman’s Coop, worked as a fisherman, and currently oversees the island food pantry to provide food for those in need.
Sweet Chariot Music Festival
The 2025 edition of the nearly 40 year old tradition at the Hall. We are happy to host this festival each August. This is one of the sea chanties performed by Goef Kaufman.
Each year the Hall hosts the many talented performers, both young and old at the Recreation Departments community talent show. Here is a breif clip from the 2025 edition.
Community Variety Show
Hockamock Players
The Hockamock players have been giving perfomance at the Hall for decades. From Shakespear and Broadway Shows, to plays written by local writters. Money collected it donated to the Hall for its ongoing expenses.
